About Us

Comcare’s Enabling Technology Department is committed to using technology to promote autonomy, choice, and greater control in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Enabling Technology team members have completed TechFirst/SHIFT educational training and work alongside the person supported and their team to identify meaningful, person centered technology solutions. We believe technology can help overcome barriers, improve communication, enhance safety, and increase opportunities for participation at home, in the community, and at work. Through person centered planning and enabling technology assessments, we identify solutions based on each person’s strengths, preferences, needs, and goals. Our goal is to make Technology First part of how Comcare provides support by using technology to help each person achieve greater autonomy, self determination, and choice.
