About Us

Comcare’s Workforce Development Department team members have earned their TechFirst/SHIFT educational accreditation and focus on supporting the person during Job Exploration, Discovery, Development as well as Job Support. Each person has a Job Coach that is valuable support for the person supported and employers as well.
We believe that employment opportunities and community inclusion act as an aid to overcome barriers for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In part of protecting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 we stand by the right to obtain employment and volunteer opportunities without discrimination.
Supports will help to assist those who wish to work by using the “3 E’s Method” – Education, Exploration, and Experience. This provides enhanced opportunities for the person to build confidence, self-determination and achieve their career goals and become integrated into the workforce.
We have a fast-growing volunteering department which we recognize to be as important as employment development. Our program provides the ability to build, connect, and contribute within the local communities, while developing valuable skills, which can be utilized in future employment opportunities.

Matt, Employment Consultant / Job Coach

The best part of being a job coach is watching people supported plan, discover, and apply for jobs they enjoy. It is rewarding to teach responsibilities, explain paychecks, and see their growth toward independence. The process is inclusive and empowering.
